Hawaii Bowl looking for new title sponsor
The Hawaii Bowl will continue to be played on Dec. 24 but Sheraton Hotels will no longer be the title sponsor, officials announced on Friday.
Sheraton had been title sponsor for 11 years and will remain as “official hotel sponsor,” officials said.
The game is owned and operated by ESPN Regional TV, which said it is talking to several candidates about title sponsorships.
It will be the 10th time in the game’s 13-year history that it will be played on Christmas Eve. Kickoff for the nationally-televised event is scheduled for 3 p.m. on ESPN.
The game is scheduled to match representatives from the Mountain West Conference and Conference USA. The University of Hawaii will represent the Mountain West if the Rainbow Warriors win at least seven of their 13 regular-season games.
