A house occupied by 10 people in Hauula early Sunday morning was destroyed in a fire that caused $390,000 in damages, Fire spokesman Capt. James Todd said.

The fire at 54-148 Kawaipuna Street took nearby 30 minutes to control after the initial alarm at 5:24 a.m.

Firefighters took more than an hour to extinguish the blaze.

Todd said the fire caused $40,000 in damages to property and $350,000 in damages to the structure.

A man in his 60s suffered a small burn on an arm but refused medical attention, Todd said.

The 10 people included three minors and the Red Cross had been called to assist the victims, he said.

Todd said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
