A pedestrian was injured after being hit on Thursday by a sports utility vehicle on Kailua Road.

The accident occurred about 11:45 a.m. at 1257 Kailua Road, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.

No other information on the victim or the accident was immediately available.

Police closed the eastbound lanes of Kailua Road between Uluoa Street and Ulumanu Road while they investigated the accident. The Kailua accident was the second involving a pedestrian on Thursday.

A 55-year-old man was killed earlier Thursday morning when he was hit by a city bus while crossing North King Street near Gulick Avenue in Kalihi.
