Traffic tickets lead to arrests of theft suspects
Honolulu police arrested two suspects for driving stolen vehicles after traffic stops in separate incidents.
Police arrested a 55-year-old Moiliili man on South Beretania Street in Moiliili after stopping him for a traffic violation at 12:20 a.m. Saturday.
A check of the vehicle showed it was stolen, police said. Officers also arrested him on suspicion of promoting a dangerous drug after finding narcotics during a search, police said.
On Thursday, police arrested a 31-year-old man with no local address on Factory and Waterhouse streets in Kalihi after he was stopped driving the wrong way on a one-way street on an allegedly stolen moped at about 10 a.m.
The man was charged Friday with operating a stolen vehicle. Bail was set at $25,000.
