17-year-old arrested for alleged assault on corrections officer
A 17-year-old boy was turned over to the jurisdiction of family court after he allegedly assaulted a 39-year-old corrections officer at a Kapolei juvenile facility on Saturday.
The alleged assault occurred after 2 p.m. on Saturday. Police arrested the teenager on suspicion of second-degree assault. He was sent to the Hawaii Youth Correctional Facility on Sunday after he was charged.
The corrections worker was struck on the arm, police said.
