A 25-year-old Maui man died Tuesday after falling from a Kokee trail on Kauai, police said in a news release.
The man had been hiking about 1 p.m. with two friends on the Waimea Canyon Trail when he fell about 700 feet, police said.
Kauai fire rescue personnel aboard a fire helicopter went to the scene and found the man’s body about 2:30 p.m. Police said the body was recovered, flown to Waimea Canyon Park and then taken to the Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital.
Police did not identify the victim.
