A state judge on Thursday ordered a woman accused of trying to kill a 73-year-old woman in a Waikiki apartment parking garage to the Hawaii State Hospital for treatment.

Jill Hansen, 30, is charged with second-degree attempted murder and in a separate case, third-degree assault.

Circuit Judge Richard Perkins found Hansen unfit for trial based on evaluations by three doctors this month and sent her to the psychiatric hospital for three months. She is scheduled for a review in December.

Hansen appeared in an orange prison uniform and briefly touched fingers with her mother before a deputy sheriff led her out of the courtroom. She did not speak to the judge.
