Police reopen Kapiolani Blvd. lanes closed due to accident
Police on Thursday night reopened two eastbound lanes of Kapiolani Boulevard in McCully that were closed during Thursday afternoon’s rush hour to investigate a one-vehicle crash.
A driver in her 40s was seriously injured after she apparently lost control of the vehicle and hit a utility pole.
The accident occurred about 2:45 p.m. at Kapiolani Boulevard and Pumehana Street near the McCully Shopping Center.
The pole was leaning, so police were awaiting Hawaiian Electric Co. crews to repair the pole.
