The man found floating in waters off Ala Moana Park Monday afternoon has died.

The identity of the man, between his 60s and 70s and of unspecified Asian race, remained unknown, the Honolulu Medical Examiner said Tuesday evening.

The man, who may have been swimming, was found floating in the water and unresponsive by another swimmer at about 3:30 p.m., according to Honolulu Emergency Medical Services.

A swimmer and surfer helped to bring him ashore where efforts were made by lifeguards to resuscitate him, until emergency medical services personnel arrived and transported him to a hospital in critical condition, according to Emergency Medical Services.
