Hawaii County police detectives on Friday arrested a 22-year-old Mountain View man on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.
The suspect was arrested at 10:15 a.m. in connection with the shooting of a 30-year-old man who was taken to the Hilo Medical center, where he was treated for his wounds and released.
Police released the suspect from custody at 4:20 p.m. Friday pending further invstigation.
