Stabbing victim’s body found on Tantalus identified

Police are seeking witnesses or information in the stabbing death of a 53-year-old man in the Tantalus area.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as Craig Jones. His address was unknown on Wednesday afternoon. An autopsy determined he died of stab wounds to his neck and his death was a homicide.

Police said passerby found Jones in the bushes near one of the lookouts at about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers responding to a report of suspicious circumstances in the 3700 block of Round Top Drive found an unresponsive man with suspicious injuries, according to a CrimeStoppers release.

The Honolulu Police Department has initiated a second-degree murder case. So far this year, there have been 21 homicide victims in Honolulu.
