A 19-year-old man has been charged with the assault of a 21-year-old man in McCully.

Mario Narte, Jr. was charged Saturday with second-degree assault. His bail was set at $100,000.

Police said Narte attacked a 21-year-old man with a dangerous instrument causing serious injuries at about 3:30 a.m. Friday.

The victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but later improved to stable condition.

Narte was arrested about four hours later on Hausten Street for investigation of second-degree attempted murder and theft.
