A 30-year-old Kailua-Kona man is facing charges tied to an alleged car break-in at a Kona beach.

According to Hawaii island police, a witness saw the suspect break into a car at Kua Bay and remove items from the vehicle on Wednesday. The witness then followed the suspect as the suspect drove to Waikoloa Beach Road, parked the car and fled on foot.

Following an investigation into the incident, police arrested Keoni Yamada on Thursday.
