Police: Suspect tries to flee, attacks officer
A 44-year-old Aiea man is accused of attacking a police officer who was attempting to serve him with an outstanding warrant near Waimanalo Beach Park Thursday.
The suspect was in the process of being arrested just after 5 p.m. when he attempted to flee and allegedly attacked a 46-year-old police officer.
Officers arrested him on suspicion of first-degree assault on law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.
