WAILUKU >> Monday marks the one-year anniversary of the disappearance of a Maui woman and police say they’re actively pursuing the case.

The Maui News reports 46-year-old Moreira Monsalve was last seen around 10 p.m. on Jan. 12, 2014, at her ex-boyfriend’s home in Wailuku.

A purse and other belongings of the mother of three were recovered from an industrial trash bin outside the Velma McWayne Santos Community Center.

Maui Police detective Oran Satterfield say there have been rumors that the case has gone cold but that’s not true.

The department continues to be assisted by the FBI, the state Department of Land and Natural Resources, Honolulu police and other agencies.

Monsalve’s family plans to hold a rally starting at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Kanaloa and West Kaahumanu avenues.
