H-1 drivers were stuck in gridlock in the westbound direction near downtown early Wednesday afternoon after a crash forced police to close three lanes.

Police said three vehicles were involved in the crash at about 11:40 a.m. near the Vineyard Boulevard offramp. No critical injuries were reported.

Police closed the lanes until tow trucks could remove the damaged vehicles. Police reopened all lanes of the freeway at about 12:45 p.m.

Police are waiting for tow trucks to remove several vehicles in the aftermath of an H-1 crash that is causing gridlock in the westbound lanes near downtown on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash was reported about 11:40 a.m. near the Vineyard offramp and involved three vehicles, police said. Victims were taken to the hospital, but no critical injuries were reported, police said.
