Mechanical issue diverts Dallas-Honolulu flight to L.A.
LOS ANGELES » Passengers on a flight from Dallas to Honolulu got an unplanned stop in Los Angeles on Friday.
American Airlines Flight 123 was diverted due to a mechanical issue.
The Boeing 767 landed safely around 12:30 p.m.
Los Angeles Fire Department crews were waiting near the runway just in case, but were not needed.
A spokeswoman for the airport said she did not know the nature of the mechanical issue and American didn’t immediately provide details.
