UH football team gets commitment from Fullerton transfer
Matt “Moose” Norman, an offensive tackle from Fullerton College, told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser he has accepted a football scholarship from the University of Hawaii.
Norman said he will join the Warriors on Tuesday. He is enrolled in UH’s spring semester, and will participate in the team’s offseason conditioning program and spring training.
Norman is 6 feet 6 and about 250 pounds. He expects to gain at least 30 pounds this spring and compete at one of the offensive-tackle positions.
Norman completed a 48-hour recruiting trip to Hawaii this past Saturday.
“It’s a quick turnaround,” Norman said.
He met the NCAA eligibility requirements as a Monrovia High senior, but opted to attend a junior college to improve his football value. As an NCAA qualifier, he is able to transfer after three semesters at Fullerton.

Norman said he chose UH because of the coaching staff and the Warriors’ schedule. The Warriors travel to national champion Ohio State and Wisconsin this fall.
