Strong earthquake strikes off east coast of Japan
A strong earthquake struck off the east coast of the Honshu region of Japan Thursday night.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii.
The U.S. Geological Survey stated in a preliminary report that the magnitude-6.3 earthquake struck about 87 miles east of Miyako and 358 miles northeast of Tokyo at a depth of about 8 miles.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
