University of Hawaii football coach Norm Chow has completed his coaching staff with the approved additions of three full-time assistant coaches this week.

Lance Samuseva was promoted from intern, Jake Cookus joined this week, and Abraham Elimimian arrives in town this weekend. Samuseva, a former UH defensive tackle, served as a football intern the past three years. Cookus previously coordinated the University of Montana’s special teams and defensive secondary. Elimimian, a former UH cornerback, was Simon Fraser University’s defensive coordinator.

Tom Mason, who was hired as UH defensive coordinator two weeks ago and arrives in Honolulu on Saturday, said he looks forward to working under Chow.

"I have great respect for Norm Chow," Mason said. "He has one of the best offensive minds in the country. A defensive coach always wants to work with one of the best offensive coaches."
