Two former teammates at the University of Miami who became stars of their original NFL team will be playing together for the Indianapolis Colts.

Former Houston Texans all-pro receiver Andre Johnson will join former San Francisco running back Frank Gore in Indianapolis, the veteran wide receiver tweeted Wednesday.

Gore, who played 10 seasons with the 49ers and became the franchise’s all-time leading rusher, signed as an unrestricted free agent with the Colts on Tuesday.

Johnson, a seven-time pro bowler who holds every major receiving record in Texans’ history, was released earlier this week after 12 seasons with the franchise.

Both Gore and Johnson played at “The U” together in the early 2000s.
