Honolulu-based Diversified Exterminators has been purchased by Terminix, the national pest control company announced Friday.

Terms were not disclosed, and no specific information was given about impact to Diversified employees or management team members.

Diversified was established by the late Mohinder Maan in 1972 and is the largest locally owned pest control company on Oahu, according to the Terminix statement.

“The acquisition of Diversified Exterminators expands our already strong footprint on the Hawaiian Islands,” said Bill Derwin, president of Terminix, in a statement. “We continually search for companies that mirror our focus on excellent customer service, professionalism and the potential for growth.”

Terminix has operated in Hawaii since the 1940s. It is a unit of ServiceMaster Global Holdings Inc., a publicly traded company whose portfolio also includes American Home Shield, AmeriSpec, Furniture Medic, and disaster restoration and janitorial services bearing the ServiceMaster name, as well as residential cleaning company Merry Maids.
