Pali Highway to close in Honolulu-bound direction
The National Weather Service extended a flash flood warning for Kauai until 8:15 a.m. today with radar showing heavy rain over the northeast side of the island.
Pali Highway in the Honolulu-bound direction will be closed for tunnel cleaning Saturday night to Sunday morning, the state Department of Transportation said.
The full closure will start from 7 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday between Kamehameha Highway and Waokanaka St.
Only City and County buses and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the work zone, the department said.
Honolulu-bound motorists are advised to use alternate routes such as the Likelike Highway and the H-3 Freeway and to allow for extra travel time.
