Helicopter makes emergency landing in Ewa Beach

The pilot of a two-seat private helicopter made an emergency landing Tuesday in Ewa Beach after noticing smoke coming from the engine compartment, a Honolulu Fire Department spokesman said.
Fire Capt. David Jenkins said the pilot landed the helicopter in an open lot at the end of Keoneula Boulevard near Essex Road at 1:13 p.m.
Two people were onboard the helicopter, and no one was injured, Jenkins said.
