Na Yeon Choi takes early lead in Lotte Championship
Na Yeon Choi played her second nine in 4-under 32 on Wednesday to take the early first-round lead in the Lotte Championship.
The South Korean shot a 5-under 67 in her morning round at windy Ko Olina Golf Club. She won the season-opening Coates Golf Championship in Florida for her eighth LPGA Tour title.
Founders Cup winner Hyo Joo Kim and Kia Classic champion Cristie Kerr were tied for second at 69 along with Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel, Beatriz Recari, Mirim Lee and Giulia Molinaro.
Pressel bogeyed her last two holes. Her last win came in the 2008 Kapalua LPGA Classic on Maui.
Defending champion Michelle Wie played in the afternoon in a group with 2012 winner Ai Miyazato and 2013 champion Suzann Pettersen.
