High surf due on north, east shores beginning Monday
A north swell will reach dangerous levels Monday, the National Weather Service said in issuing a high surf advisory through 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The swell will also cause high surf along eastern shorelines, the agency said.
Surf along Oahu’s North Shore will rise to 10 to 15 feet, and 6 to 9 feet along east shores.
Strong breaking waves and coastal currents could make swimming difficult and dangerous, the weather service said.
The advisory begins at 6 a.m. Monday.
