Maui police officer on administrative leave is arrested in California

John Salomon, 39, of the Maui Police Department has been placed on leave after he was charged with driving under the influence Thursday afternoon.
A Maui police officer on administrative leave following an arrest for operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant was arrested Saturday in California for allegedly being drunk in public.
John Salomon, 39, of Pukalani was arrested around 4:36 p.m. Hawaii time by the Newport Beach Police Department. His bail was set at $500.
No details of the incident were released.
Salomon, a three-year veteran of the Maui Police Department, has been on administrative leave since his June 11 arrest on Maui.
