Wong trails in votes for starting position at MLB All-Star game

St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong has a 1,585,265 vote gap to close before voting ends Thursday evening to select the starter at the position for the 2015 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. 

Wong has 4,730,848 votes to the 6,316,113 of the leader, Miami’s Dee Gordon, according to today’s announcement by MLB. The starting lineups will be announced upon the completion of voting, which ends at 5:59 p.m., Hawaii Time, Thursday. 

Votes can be cast mlb.com or the team websites, such as cardinals.com/vote. The game will be played July 14 in Cincinnati.
