DETROIT FREE PRESS
Mitchelle Blair, right, appears in court before Wayne Circuit Court Judge Dana Hathaway on Monday, June 29, 2015 in Detroit. Blair pleaded guilty Monday to killing two of her children and storing their bodies in a home freezer, telling a judge that she had no remorse for beating and suffocating them. She faces life in prison with no chance for parole.

DETROIT >> A Detroit woman who killed two of her four children and stored the bodies in a home freeze is returning to court to be sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Mitchelle Blair has expressed no remorse for killing a son and daughter. An eviction crew made the shocking discovery of bodies in the freezer in March.

The 36-year-old Blair is expected in court Friday, about three weeks after pleading guilty to first-degree murder. Her no-parole sentence is mandatory. She has said that she would be willing to be sentenced to death, but Michigan doesn’t have the death penalty.

Blair killed her 13-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son. She says they had abused a sibling, though she didn’t witness the alleged assaults and never reported anything to police.
