Florida and California beat out the Aloha State in a Travelzoo Inc. survey to find the friendliest destinations for travelers.

New York state and Texas placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

The same survey, however, ranked Honolulu as the friendliest U.S. city for travelers.

New York City came in second, followed by New Orleans, Las Vegas and Boston is fifth.

Among international destinations, Mexico was the winner among Latin American choices, and Italy tops the European destinations. Australia won among Asia-Pacific travel options.

The results are based on an online survey of more than 6,400 adults.
