Macy’s Inc. will make same-day deliveries in Honolulu, of items purchased online at macys.com, bloomingdales.com and via either brand’s mobile-website, beginning this month.

Honolulu’s Bloomingdale’s store will open in November.

The Monday announcement expands Macy’s same-day delivery service to nine new markets, adding to the eight announced last fall, though specific start-dates were not given for each market.

In addition to Honolulu, the new markets include Atlanta; Boston; Dallas; Las Vegas; Miami and Ft. Lauderdale; new regions within New York City; Orange County, Calif., and Philadelphia. Dallas and Las Vegas will have delivery service from Macy’s only.

"When we piloted same-day delivery … we learned that our customers appreciate the additional option of having their purchase brought to their home or office in a matter of hours," said R.B. Harrison, Macy’s, Inc. chief omnichannel officer, in a statement. "It is an important part of our value proposition as an omnichannel retailer serving customers who shop our stores and websites whenever, wherever and however they prefer," he said. "Our ability to expand same-day delivery is rooted in local merchandise inventories at Macy’s stores, as well as a newly expanded delivery footprint of our partners at Deliv."

The California-based Deliv service has doubled its footprint with the new expansion, the company said in a statement released separately.
