2 die in Pauoa Valley house fire

Firefighters responded to the blaze at Haweo Place, near Kekuanoni Street, at 11:52 a.m., and the fire was under control at 12:18 p.m., according to fire department officials.

Two people died in midday fire that destroyed a two-story home in Pauoa Valley Monday, according to the Honolulu Fire Department. 

A third person — a 15-year-old boy — in the structure when the fire ignited was able to exit the home. According to an Emergency Medical Services report, the boy declined treatment at the scene.

Firefighters arrived at the house, 444 Kekuanoni Place, at 11:59 a.m., and the fire was under control at 12:15 p.m., according to fire department officials. The cause of the fire, which was apparently accidental, is under investigation, officials said.
