Moanalua Road ramp to H-1 Ewa-bound to close overnight for roadwork

The Hawaii Department of Transportation is advising motorists of multiple lane closures at various locations between Aiea and Pearl City scheduled between 8 p.m. Saturday through 4 a.m. Monday morning for deck widening and concrete pours.

The three westbound right lanes will be closed between the Kaonohi Street Overpass and the Waipahu offramp starting at 8 p.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. the following day for a concrete pour. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the two right lanes will be closed and reduced again to one right lane from 2 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday.

In addition, the Moanalua Road on-ramp to the H-1 freeway in the westbound direction will be closed from 8 p.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. Sunday.

During the concrete curing periods, the majority of crew personnel and equipment will vacate the work site, but lanes will remain closed as the concrete hardens, the department said.

Motorists are asked to follow posted construction zone speed limits and drive slowly through the area to minimize negative vibration effects on the concrete as it hardens.
