A woman died after a snorkeling trip on Saturday, the Maui County Police Department said.

The victim has been identified as 73-year-old Jung Aee Kim from Grand Prarie, Texas.

Police, medics, and Coast Guard officials responded to reports of an unresponsive woman at Maalaea Harbor at 11:08 a.m.

The Odessey, a vessel, took Kim and other tour group members to a snorkeling spot known as “Turtle Town” for snorkeling, police said.

Kim was found face down in the water and was taken back on board. A bystander performed CPR as the vessel traveled back to the harbor to meet with medics and the Coast Guard.

Kim was pronounced dead when the vessel arrived at Maalaea Harbor.

The cause of death has not been determined and is pending autopsy results.
