Board of Water Supply crews are working to fix a broken 16-inch water main in Palolo that apparently has wide-spread effects on the water system.

Kapiolani Community College said on its website that  the campus has canceled all activities, functions and classes because of the main break.

The college asked students and employees to leave the campus.

The break, on Maluhia Street between 8th and 9th avenues, was reported at 6 .a.m.

The Board of Water Supply said 15 customers on Maluhia Street between 9th and Pakele avenues are without water service.

Crews are working to restore water service to most of the affected customers.

Repairs on the pipe and the road could extend into the weekend.
