No. 12 Hawaii wins fourth straight in volleyball

Reigning national player of the week Nikki Taylor put down a match-high 20 kills and No. 12 Hawaii defeated CSU Bakersfield 25-11, 25-14, 24-26, 25-15, in a nonconference volleyball contest Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Senior middle Olivia Magill had 12 kills and senior hitter Tai Manu-Olevao added 11 for the Rainbow Wahine (9-1), who won their fourth straight. Hawaii outblocked Bakersfield 15-1, with Taylor and Magill both in on eight

Sophomore libero Savanah Kahakai finished with a career-high 23 digs and Taylor added a double-double with 11 digs. Junior setter Tayler Higgins had five of the team’s nine aces.

Kelsee Sawyer had 16 kills for the Roadrunners (2-9) and libero Jocelyn Rodriguez had 13 digs.
