Police are looking for a man who stole a vehicle with a 3-year-old girl inside in Waikiki on Thursday.

The suspect took the vehicle while the girl was inside about midnight, but the girl was let out of the vehicle unharmed a short distance away, police said.

Officers recovered the vehicle in Maili about 1:45 a.m. today after it overturned in a ditch.

Police have opened a kidnapping and auto theft investigation.
