Foul play ruled out in death of man found floating in Hilo Bay
Foul play has been ruled out in the death of a man whose body was found floating in Hilo Bay on Sept. 24, the Hawaii County medical examiner has determined.
Police said the medical examiner conducted an autopsy Tuesday and determined the man died from asphyxia due to drowning.
Detectives are still trying to find out the identity of the man.
The man was found floating face down shortly after 8 p.m. Sept. 24 about 15 feet from shore at the 100 block of Banyan Drive.
