Man charged with theatening mother of his daughter on Facebook
A 30-year-old Makiki man remains in custody today, charged with threatening the mother of his daughter on his Facebook page.
Curtis Hughes was charged Sunday with two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison. He remains at Oahu Community Correctional Center in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Curtis pleaded not guilty on Monday and has a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
Hughes and the victim, a 21-year-old woman, ended their relationship bitterly, and the woman obtained a three-year protective order against Hughes in July 2013, a police affidavit said.
On Sept. 23, the woman reported to police that Hughes posted a threat against her on his Facebook page that said: “(Expletive) my Daughters mother! I would shoot that (expletive) in a heartbeat!,” the affidavit said.
The woman told an officer she felt threatened by Hughes’ comment.
