Hawaii island man arrested for allegedly stabbing another man
Hawaii County police arrested a 61-year-old Pahoa man who allegedly stabbed a 24-year-old Pahoa man following an argument outside a Pahoa home Wednesday night.
Police arrested the 61-year-old on suspicion of first-degree assault.
He allegedly had been arguing with the younger man outside a home on the 13-800 block of Pohoiki Road.
The 24-year-old was stabbed multiple times, police said. He was taken in serious but stable condition to the Hilo Medical Center.
Another resident intervened and inflicted minor injuries to the older man’s head, police said.
The Hawaii County Fire Department’s paramedics treated the older man at the scene before taking him to the Hilo cellblock.
