Emergency sirens in Waimanalo, Kaneohe to be tested today
The civil defense sirens in Waimanalo and Kaneohe will be tested today.
The siren testing will occur between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at King Intermediate School and Aikahi Park in Kaneohe and Kaiona Beach Park in Waimanalo.
Residents nearby may hear the siren sound six to eight times for 30-second to one-minute intervals. Testing will include short blasts known as “burps.” During the tests, technicians will check that installation work on this siren has been completed properly.
