No. 8 Hawaii holds off UC Irvine in volleyball

    UH’s Tai Manu-Olevao bumped the ball as teammates Kendra Koelsch (2) and UH’s Annie Mitchem (8) looked on in the first set against UC Irvine.

Senior Tai Manu-Olevao put down 14 kills and No. 8 Hawaii won its 13th straight, defeating UC Irvine 25-17, 25-23, 21-25, 26-24, in a Big West volleyball match Saturday night at the Stan Sheriff Center. 

Emily Maglio added 12 kills, including the match-ender, for the Rainbow Wahine (18-1, 8-0 Big West).

Marisa Bubica led the Anteaters (8-11, 2-5) with 14 kills.
