UH soccer loses fifth straight in Big West
The Hawaii soccer team’s slim chances of qualifying for the Big West tournament were reduced to basically nil after a 1-0 loss to Cal State Northridge at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium tonight.
UH’s fifth straight loss to start the conference season ensured a losing record in the league, all but making it impossible to finish in the top four of the standings with three matches still to play.
The Rainbow Wahine (3-11-1, 0-5) were held without a shot in the first half by the Matadors (10-5-1, who got the game-winning goal from Breanna McCallum in the 52nd minute.
Some spirited attempts by UH late in the game could not find the net. UH heads back on the road next week.
