Man rescued after sliding into ravine along Puu Manamana Trail

Honolulu firefighters rescued a 19-year-old man who slid into a ravine along the Puu Manamana Trail in Kaaawa on Saturday.

The incident was reported at 7:11 p.m.

According to Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. James Todd, the man slid approximately 20 feet off the trail and was unable to make his way back.

Firefighters located the man by light of his cell phone and airlifted him to a landing zone established at Swanzy Beach Park, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
