No. 6 Hawaii sweeps Northridge for 17th straight in volleyball

UH Rainbow Wahine Emily Maglio and Tai Manu-Olevao put up a block against the Cal State Northridge Matadors at the Matadome tonight.

Senior middle Olivia Magill put down 11 kills and No. 6 Hawaii used a balanced attack to win its 17 straight Saturday night, sweeping Cal State Northridge 25-14, 25-17, 25-19 in a Big West volleyball match at Northridge, Calif.

Junior hitter Tai Manu-Olevao added nine kills and sophomore hitter Kalei Greeley eight for the Rainbow Wahine (22-1, 12-0 Big West).  Junior hitter Nikki Taylor had seven kills and was in on five of Hawaii’s eight blocks. 

Cieana Stinson led the Matadors (5-20, 4-9) with 13 kills. 

Hawaii returns home Sunday then leaves Friday for four road matches to conclude the regular season. The Rainbow Wahine play four matches in seven days beginning next Sunday at UC Davis.
