LAHAINA >> An eighth all-time win for host Chaminade in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational was not to be this year, as the Silverswords fell to St. John’s 100-93 today at the Lahaina Civic Center.

The Division II Silverswords went 0-3 in their nationally televised signature event with losses to No. 5 Kansas, UNLV and St. John’s.

The Silverswords trailed the Red Storm by 17 points at halftime. They clawed within five points late, but St. John’s withstood the late charge.
