A 16-year-old boy allegedly pointed a replica gun at a police officer in Ala Moana Beach Park early Monday morning and was arrested on multiple charges.

Police said officers responded to a report of an argument at 5:52 a.m.

The suspect, a 16-year-old boy, attempted to flee, stopped and brandished the replica gun, police said.

Officers arrested him for terroristic threatening, resisting arrest, assault and for displaying a replica gun in a public place and brandishing it in front of a law enforcement officer on duty.

What is this boy doing out at that hour? Is he homeless and comes from Kakaako homeless camp? Here we go again. If he is from Micro send him back.

    Lucky he was not shot.

  3. DeltaDag says:

What this boy did was unwise in the extreme. Brandishing anything that can be taken for a weapon in front of a law enforcement officer is indicative of poor self control, a lack education or awareness of current events, or a mental illness of some kind. He was very fortunate the officer demonstrated self-restraint.

I guess he didn’t want to make it to his 17th birthday. Still might not.

  5. saveparadise says:

It is still dark at 5:52am. Impossible to distinguish a real gun from a replica. How did the officer refrain from shooting this pupuli kid.
