MOSCOW » It wasn’t quite an endorsement, but Russian President Vladimir Putin has praised Donald Trump’s talents and lauded his calls for better ties with Russia.

Speaking to journalists after his annual news conference today, Putin called Trump an “absolute front-runner” in the presidential race and a “bright and talented person.” He added that he “certainly welcomes” Trump’s calls for better U.S.-Russia ties.

Putin had said earlier he was ready to work with the eventual winner in the presidential race. And Trump has said he could work with the Russian leader.

“I think that I would probably get along with him very well,” Trump said of Putin in an October interview with CNN. “And I don’t think you’d be having the kind of problems that you’re having right now.”

I like some of Trumps views. About time we put our foot down on a lot of issues. Enough is enough.

  2. Kriya says:

Duh, cause Putin would run the table with an imbecile like Trump stumbling and bumbling his way into global politics. Best reason yet (and there are oh so many reasons) why Trump is disqualified from being President of the United States.

You bought Vladi’s spew hook line & sinker..typical liberal mindset..bit it! Let me explain and try to comprehend…Vladi’s reinforces your mindset to vote Hillary…remember her..the one with the RESET BUTTON with the wrong translation (“Peregruzka” in Russian. The problem was, “peregruzka” doesn’t mean reset. It means overcharged, or overloaded)?! Vladi would run circles around her..geesh get informed, don’t be so gullible!

It would be kind of amusing to watch both the US and Russian administrations function on a crisis to crisis management system with zero strategic thinking. Putin is winging everything and Trump per his campaign will do the same. The difference is that Putin is functionally a dictator where Trump will have to deal with Congress and the people. And anyone who gets an endorsement from a man who is openly robbing the treasury to enrich his cronies, orders assassinations of journalists who publish the corruption and funds a functionally autonomous Sharia state within Russia while American Republicans praise him shouldn’t be voted for.

  3. UppitySenior says:

This is kind of great news that Putin thinks Trump is bright and talented because the people who love Trump and his racist, hateful self are the ones who also hate Russia most likely and will not want to be seen as pro communist – his followers tend to hate everyone and buy into propaganda, clearly not thinking democratic citizens. That is my early morning logic, anyway. That being said, am shocked that Putin said this.

  4. Maipono says:

I’m not necessarily a supporter of Trump, but Putin sees him as a step up from the incompetence and the total mismanagement of the Obama/Hillary Clinton administration. Even Putin recognizes that the world depends on a strong American leader, and not a third term extension of the inept Obama/Hillary Clinton administration.

Strategic comment…he wants to get us to use our anti-Putin sentiment votes and leverage against Trump election and ends up contending with flaccid leadership. In my opinion, Putin’s a lot more cunning than he let’s on.

  6. MichaelG says:

Do you think that Putin has America’s best interest at heart?

    • richierich says:

Absolutely not, Putin has Russia’s best interest at heart. What many people fail to realize is that just because something is good for Russia does not mean it is bad for the United States. Our current administrations positions and perceived weakness have created a power vacuum. That is bad for all.

“Do you think that Obama has Russia’s best interest at heart”??

What is uncanny for me? Is that,Donald Trump hasn’t been elected to be POTUS yet!! Who would have thought that? Even though,Donald hasn’t begun negotiations, His foreign relations are already improving.

  7. Cellodad says:

Gee, both Vlad AND the Neo-Nazi Daily Stormer support Trump. I guess that says it all.

    • choyd says:

It’s also amusing how Hillary and special interest haters are flocking to one of her long time friends and the poster child of special interest.

The Republican National Committee’s leadership is right. Trump’s supporters are the dumbest of the dumb.

  8. engineersoldier says:

Putin is a pathological liar, murderer and criminal who has amassed billions while in government. There is nothing credible about him–nothing.

  9. CPete says:

Putin is no dummy. His comments are well calculated. He is encouraging Trump’s candidacy because he understand Trump’s lunacy and is afraid to deal with a president who can be so unpredictable. Thus by his “endorsement, he is actually encouraging the American voters to reject Trump. Ask yourself, would you trust Putin?
