A morning water main break on Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki caused minor flooding and forced the closure of two lanes of the thoroughfare.

The water main, located on Kalakaua Avenue near Keoniana Street, ruptured around 6 a.m. and forced the closure of the right two lanes of Kalakaua Avenue along Fort DeRussy. Police reopened the lanes shortly before 8:40 a.m.

The flooding on the roadway that was a result of the rupture has subsided, police said.
