Rescuers help tourist who needed ride out of Kauai’s Kalalau Valley
A Kauai County helicopter picked up a 47-year-old Texas tourist who sought assistance out of the Kalalau Valley on Kauai.
At about 2:41 p.m. Sunday, firefighters and staff from the Department of Land and Natural Resources responded to call of a woman from Houston at Kalalau Beach who needed assistance.
Fire rescue crews found the woman did not suffer any injuries, but “sought transport out of the valley,” according to a county news release.
She was flown to Princeville Airport where responding paramedics waited for her arrival. A county spokeswoman said she refused treatment and was released at the scene.
